Dear President Kim: 19 Feb 2002
I first came to your Country in 1953, while in the U.S. Army. During my tour of duty at that time I made a lot of Korean friends (soldiers with whom I served). I never learned anything at that time of your History and all the atrocities committed against your people by Japan, China and the U.S.
The next time I came to your Country was in 1975, when I met by wife (Lee Duk Moon). She was a graduate of Suk Myung Women's University and majored in Government.
She thuroughly opened my eyes to the real History, culture and customs of your Country.
In 1995, My wife and I (accompanied by Pak Yung Kil), were granted an audience with you at your home in Seoul.
During this audience, I expressed to you that I felt the best way to achieve "Korean Reunification" was to first get the U.S. troops out of your Country! You disagreed with me, saying it was the best way to keep stability in the Far East.
I still feel the same way today and more so since Bush became President, I guess he feels he is the second coming of Christ and is to make all the judgements against other Countries, i.e. his reference to the "Evil Axis"!
Our Country is so full of "it", first they stole the whole country from the American Indians, then they enslaved the Black Man. Throughout our History we have supported the Oppressive Dictatorships, Batista in Cuba, DuValier in Haiti, Marcos in the Philippines, Pak, Chun and Ro in South Korea. We supported Saddam Hussein in Iraq against Iran, because Iran did a job on us, but now we are against Hussein because he had invaded Kuwait, and that would seriously hurt American interests driven by an "oil love". We defended an oppressive regime in Saudi Arabia for the same reason.
The motto in this Country is, "Don't do as I do, but do as I say"!
It is past time for you to tell the U.S. to begin immediately to withdraw their forces from South Korea, before the bombs begin to fall on "my" brothers and sisters in North Korea. I have family by marriage in the North.
Thank You,
